A Brief overview
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD) are the two most common neurodegenerative disorders which place an enormous emotional and financial burden on families and societies worldwide.
Recently we discovered a novel protein network that directs signaling through a region of the brain that controls movements, memory and cognition. This discovery opens new horizons in the understanding of the etiology of AD, PD and other neurodegenerative disorders and holds unprecedented potential for discovery of new pharmacological treatments for AD and PD.
